Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Manager to join our team in the Rugby manufacturing site. Reporting directly to the Site Leader, you will be a key member of the site leadership team ensuring the production facility is kept running to maximum efficiency and output.

You will be tasked with implementing full preventative maintenance plans and systems for all plant and equipment. The role is completely autonomous with a view to assess all current maintenance procedures/systems and upgrade them accordingly.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Being responsible for the planned site manufacturing maintenance including HV test maintenance and the management of the maintenance team.
  • Managing a team of currently 5 engineers.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and assigning them to the team for completion.
  • Developing and implementing effective maintenance schedules, fostering a culture of accountability and timely execution among maintenance staff.
  • Developing and maintaining a fully functional Planned Maintenance system.
  • Responding to emergency calls for maintenance, including out-of-hours calls.
  • Performing troubleshooting to solve all issues.
  • Performing detail root-cause analysis and implementing preventative actions to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Working with external suppliers and contractors where necessary.
  • Managing the maintenance budget and administrative tasks.
  • Delegating tasks to meet maintenance schedules and satisfy employer needs.
  • Communicating effectively and building strong relationships with all plant functions, working particularly closely with the Manufacturing Leader, Team Leaders, Advance Manufacturing engineers, and their teams.
  • Carrying out the duties of Senior Appointed Person (SAP).
  • Monitoring costs per machine and justifications for CAPEX.
  • Performing PAT Testing.
  • Controlling budget costs.
  • Leading plant improvement activities.
  • Acting as a LEAN advocate, fostering a culture of waste reduction, process optimization, continuous improvement and employee empowerment.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • A relevant degree or an HNC/HND level qualification in engineering/manufacturing, or equivalent.
  • Senior experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge and application of UK regulatory standards.
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced and time-critical environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Current health and safety awareness qualification.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop individuals and teams.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK Security Clearance (SC)) as part of the hiring process.
