The Associate Data Protection and IT Security Governance Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's data protection initiatives and IT governance strategies.This is an exciting role that requires a hands-on operational approach and will permit full ownership.
It involves ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, implementing governance frameworks, and managing the portfolio of IT projects & tools within the firm to align with business objectives.
Disaster recovery experience is also required and the understanding of Application Catalogues.
You will develop and maintain an internal IT database catalogue and ensure that data protection and compliance is in place.
Key Responsibilities- Data Protection:
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and FS regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
- Negotiation vendor contracts and SLA’s.
- Manage contract data base.
- Any IT Documentation (Working Instructions, policies and procedures).
- Manage data breach response and reporting processes.
- Safeguarding business data
- IT Governance:
- Develop and maintain IT governance frameworks and standards.
- Responsible and overseeing the governance & IT security for IT / software / applications, and platforms.
- Ensuring operational resilience in the face of disruptions
- Update and maintain the Application Catalogue Lifecycle Management.
- Oversee the implementation of IT governance policies across the organisation.
- Monitor and report on IT governance compliance and performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Responding to IT audit questions.
- Shape the regulatory landscape.
- Portfolio Management:
- Manage the portfolio of IT projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Evaluate, prioritise, and select IT projects based on business needs.
- Monitor project progress, assess risks, and adjust as necessary.
- Conduct portfolio reviews and present key metrics to senior management.
- Disaster Recovery:
- Document the outlining the steps to recover IT systems and data. It includes recovery objectives, key personnel contact information, and detailed recovery procedures.
- Regularly backing up data to secure locations, ensuring that it can be restored in case of data loss.
- Managing Recovery Time Objective (RTO): The maximum acceptable length of time that a system can be down after a disaster.
- Managing Recovery Point Objective (RPO): The maximum acceptable amount of data loss measured in time.
- Testing and Maintenance
- Conducting simulations to test the effectiveness of the DR plan and identify any gaps.
- Continuously updating the DR plan based on test results and changes in the business environment.
- 3+ years of experience in data protection, IT governance, or portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations and IT governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to analyse and manage risks across complex IT projects.
- Certifications in data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) or IT governance (e.g., COBIT, ITIL).
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost management.
- Full-time position based in London.
- Hybrid working hours – 2days per week on site.
