As part of UKTC's continued growth, we require an Associate Technician to join our team.As a Fire Test Technician, you will be responsible for the setting up and installation of fire resistance tests to a variety of British and European standards, taking instructions from Lead Technicians and Technical Officers in preparing the construction/ installation of our client’s specimens for testing.
This role would suit an individual with practical joinery/building knowledge and a keen eye for detail, looking to work in a truly different industry.Responsibilities
- Assist in the building of supporting constructions in line with client requirements and/or the relevant testing standards
- Installing fire testing specimens in accordance with qualified instructions
- Prepare detailed reports on tests
- Collaborate with other fire safety professionals to ensure comprehensive safety measures.
- Stay updated with the latest fire safety regulations and best practice
- Implementation of instrumentation to specimens in line with the relevant testing standards
- Record keeping surrounding instrumentation/ measurement taking
- Support in the conducting of fire resistance testing using fire resistance testing furnace
- Dismantle and disposal of test specimen and supporting construction post-test
- Good housekeeping of laboratory and all equipment
- Experience within a similar role/in construction or civil environment
- Some joinery and partition building skills
- Practical problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of accurate record keeping
- An understanding of the need for high levels of health & safety
- Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines
- A forklift licence would be considered an advantage

Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
