Doncaster Royal Infirmary is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join the team at DRI theatres as a Housekeeper.
This role is busy and we are looking for candidates to work full time hours over five days (Monday to Friday). We take pride in our work and environment and we believe that the Housekeeper role is integral in providing an efficient service for our patients.
Main duties of the job
The Housekeeper role will ensure that all facilities in the theatre units are clean, safe, tidy and comfortable.
The main elements of the role are supporting the delivery of cleaning schedules in terms of clinical equipment, assisting with stock management/rotation and to assist the coordinator in ensuring the theatre departments are well maintained, together with other specified tasks to meet patient and staff needs.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Demonstrates an understanding of the essential daily duties and responsibilities outlined in the Job Description.
- Previous experience of professional cleaning, catering, portering services, working with the public, e.g. retail
- Use of IT systems for teletracking, Datex
- Customer service experience
Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria- Numerate and literate
- Communicates clearly in writing
- Evidence of development, skills, knowledge and abilities
- Understanding of safe moving and handling practices
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Interpersonal Skills
Essential criteria- Able to work under own initiative within outlined duties
- Able to prioritise outlined duties
- Punctual and able to manage own time within outlined duties
- Flexible – can adapt in cases of high clinical demand on the clinical teams/department (e.g. ad hoc errands)
- Understands how to maintain good working relationships
- Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of cleaning
- Can demonstrate an understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH regulations, Infection Prevention control and Risk assessment
- Give practical examples of safe practices
- Understanding of effective stock control
