Job Title: Secondary SEN Tutor

Location:

South East England, Surrey, Guildford

Salary:

£20 - £30 per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored support and guidance to secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Develop individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities.
  • Deliver engaging lessons and activities to enhance students' academic and social skills.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with students with SEN in a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of SEN regulations and best practises in inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SEN tutor in a secondary school.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of various learning disabilities and developmental disorders.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs.
  • Training in specific interventions for supporting students with SEN.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible working hours based on students' schedules.
  • Classroom and one-on-one tutoring sessions with students.
  • Regular collaboration with school staff and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
