We have an Advanced Pharmacist: Education and Training role for an enthusiastic pharmacist to come and lead education and training in our growing team!

Prior experience in cancer care in not required as you will be fully supported and trained by our friendly, dedicated team; you do require a thirst to learn, a passion to deliver excellent patient centred care and transferable leadership experience.

Clatterbridge is an exciting place to continue your clinical pharmacy journey in a purpose built city centre hospital in Liverpool with state of the art facilities, working within a cutting edge clinical environment. This role represents an opportunity to develop and further progress in the rewarding specialty that is cancer care.

The successful candidates will also receive mentoring and support to grow as a leader.

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre provides excellent cancer care to patients across the North West (including North Wales and the Isle of Man). We have 3 site locations; the central Liverpool site and hub sites in the Wirral and Aintree.

Working pattern will be 37.5 hours per week which includes weekends. Contribution to the Bank holiday and on-call rota will be part of the post. For a detailed list of our employee benefits, please see the attached documents to this vacancy.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will have the opportunity to build and develop upon educational plans for the department.

Over the next few years we are planning to take on a greater role in pharmacist education , this would be a great time to join Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in this time of innovation.

You will also have the opportunity to work within the Aseptic Production Unit, quality assessing and releasing chemotherapy.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Master of Pharmacy or equivalent
  • MRPharmS
  • Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Teaching and Assessing qualification or willing to work towards/ or equivalent relevant experience demonstrated by acting in senior roles responsible for staff training and development
Desirable criteria
  • Oncology related qualification/diploma
  • Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society and undertaking Faculty Submission
  • Independent prescriber

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Good change management
  • Good pharmaceutical knowledge
  • Knowledge of changing NHS environment & government initiatives
  • Demonstrable appropriate post qualification hospital experience
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of managing a changing situation
  • Oncology pharmacy practice experience
  • Knowledge of current & future developments in cancer treatment

Experience
