If so this would be a perfect opportunity for you. The course timetable will be split between the University of Bolton, and the clinical placement in HMR, according to the curriculum.

An academic supervisor and assessor will be allocated, who will offer support in achieving the learning outcomes for practice. The students will be based with their supervisor and will have the opportunity to work at various sites within the organisation.

Skills will be developed to enable the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in a variety of community settings, including Children’s Centre's and the family home environment, whilst working as part of a skill mix team.

Successful completion of the course will lead to registration on Part 3 of the NMC register, an NMC recordable qualification, and eligibility to apply for a post as a Health Visitor.

You will be given a fixed term one-year full-time contract to undertake a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course (Health Visiting) at Bolton University; you will be paid at band 5 salary (max. mid band 5). The course commences 20th January 2025 to be completed by January 2026.

It is a full calendar year and it consists of 50% academic study and 50% in practice. The practice placements will be situated across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

These are fully funded training opportunities; subject to funding being made available from Health Education England, to qualify as a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) and is open to all qualified Nurses and Midwives.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months.

Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
