The Home Office works to build a safe, fair, and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counterterrorism, policing, fire, crime, drugs policy, immigration, and passports.

The Public Safety Group’s role is to keep the public safe by cutting crime, disrupting the highest harm criminals, protecting the vulnerable and ensuring that our police, fire, and rescue services are as efficient and effective as they can be in delivering front line public services.

We work with our partners in other government departments, local government, and the voluntary sector to develop and implement policy, provide funding, and deliver legislation.

Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP) is a pan-government, cross departmental, programme based within the Home Office. The programme has representation from the Emergency Services at both operational and departmental levels and has close working involvement from the suppliers of The Emergency Services Network (ESN) technology.

This is an exciting programme, delivering cutting edge technology which will directly impact people’s lives.

We are looking for a communications professional to work on the programme which has been set up to deliver ESN.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to grasp the needs and preferences of audiences, plan content and structure opportunities for milestones; whilst utilising a range of available channels and formats.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a good understanding of communications within a government department. They will be confident, flexible, and able to use their initiative to provide communications support and guidance on this busy programme.

They will have a creative mindset with a desire to learn new skills.

Key responsibilities are to:

  • Source and create engaging content using a range of tools and by developing strong stakeholder relationships.
