About the Job: We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to take on the important role of Assistant Principal Inclusion (SENCO) at The Elms Academy. This senior leadership position offers the opportunity to shape and lead the school’s SEND provision while playing a key strategic role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
The successful candidate will lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.

They will be committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment, developing and implementing effective SEND strategies, and ensuring the school meets all statutory requirements. A key part of the role will be driving positive outcomes for SEND students, enabling them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

About the Person: The ideal candidate will have QTS and a good honours degree in the relevant subject area.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will need to be able to work under pressure, have excellent communications skills, and be computer literate.

You should have experience in delivering high quality teaching and learning, have evidence of outstanding student attainment, be an excellent classroom teacher and have high personal and professional standards. You should be able to put provision in place to ensure that progress of pupils with SEND improves relative to those without SEND and ensure that the school carries out its statutory responsibilities regarding all students with an Education Health Care Plan (EHC)
