Electrical Project Engineer

A quick look at the role.
As an electrical Project Engineer you will oversee the installation of electrical systems across our Polymer locations, ensuring all work meets industry standards. You will play a key role in driving process improvements alongside Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams.Additionally, you will also take the lead on Polymer Optical Sorting and Extrusion equipment, supporting research, development, and testing with occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
Your core responsibilities.- Manage and authorise all electrical supply designs, installations, and modifications across all Polymer locations, ensuring compliance with legislation and insurance requirements.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of periodic electrical inspections and testing.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives across the Polymers function.
- Manage projects and associated budgets, ensuring timely delivery and performance requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documents and site plans.
- Lead the design and sourcing of Optical Sorting systems, acting as the company expert/authority.
- Lead the design and sourcing of Extrusion systems, acting as the company expert/authority.
- Manage contract labour to ensure effective project support while maintaining health and safety standards.
Requirements
Here’s what we require:
- Engineering qualification with relevant experience (HND advantageous).
- Certified in health and safety (IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, CAD and project management software.
- Knowledge of recycling process equipment.
- We would could consider any candidates with the following job titles: Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrical Technician, Maintenance Electrical Technician, Electrical Engineer Technician, and Electrical Systems Technician. Industry-specific roles cover Plant Electrical Technician, Waste Management Electrical Technician, Heavy Machinery Electrical Technician, Automation Electrical Technician, and Industrial Maintenance Electrician. Specialized positions feature Instrumentation Technician, Control Systems Technician, Electrical Maintenance Specialist, Field Service Electrical Technician, and Electrical Testing Technician. Senior and supervisory roles consist of Senior Electrical Technician, Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Electrical Technician, Electrical Foreman, and Electrical Team Leader.
