Since March 2000, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has been there for critically ill and injured people when they need us the most. The enhanced skills of our team, specialist equipment and drugs that we carry, along with the speed of our response, can make the difference between life and death.

Our team of highly skilled pilots, critical care practitioners and doctors are operational for 19 hours a day, 365 days a year; together they work tirelessly to save lives.

The service we provide is 95% funded by charitable giving; by people like you. Last year, we were tasked to 2,909 incidents, with each mission costing approximately £3,500.

The Director of Income Generation is a critical leadership role and a key member of the executive team, tasked with leading and expanding all revenue-generating activities to support the life-saving work of the Air Ambulance Charity. This role demands a dynamic, creative and inspiring leader with strong communication skills and experience of leading a high performing team.

The Director will play a key role in ensuring the financial sustainability of the charity while enhancing its public profile and engagement.

The Candidate:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Ideally the candidate will have significant experience in fundraising, including individual giving, direct marketing and brand management preferably within the charity or healthcare sector.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategies that drive substantial income growth and brand visibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders including board members and those at executive team level.
  • Experience in digital marketing, brand management, and public relations.
  • Passionate about the mission of the Air Ambulance Charity and committed to its success.
  • Visionary and creative leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and results-driven approach.
