Senior UX Designer

apartmentBionic Services Ltd placeLondon descriptionContract calendar_month

This is a 12 month, Fixed Term Contract.

At Bionic, we want to make it radically easier for business owners to sort their business essentials. Using world-class human service, smart technology, and data, our tech-enabled experts help match business owners with the best deals for their energy, connectivity, insurance, and finance.

The role

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and innovative User Experience Designer to craft seamless, end-to-end products and services that align with our strategy to become the top destination for businesses seeking simple, smart ways to save on their essential needs.

You’ll be as comfortable rolling up your sleeves to design and refine user interfaces as you are stepping back to consider the broader customer journey. This role is about acting, solving problems, and delivering exceptional outcomes quickly and effectively, without getting bogged down in months of strategising.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you’ll have a direct impact on improving the experience for thousands of business owners. You’ll join a collaborative team where your work will drive measurable results for both the business and our customers.

If you’re a practical, action-oriented designer who loves solving problems and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end design process across our digital products and services, ensuring excellent outcomes at every touchpoint.
  • Deliver high-quality, practical design outputs—from wireframes and prototypes to final UI designs—on time and to specification.
  • Translate business needs and user insights into elegant, user-friendly design solutions.
  • Improve the entire customer journey across all stages and touchpoints, from initial search to renewals & drop out.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other teams to ensure design solutions are feasible, practical, and aligned with goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to drive quick decision-making and alignment.
  • Conduct user research and testing when needed, validating assumptions and improving designs iteratively.
  • Identify areas where products intersect and ensure seamless integration for consistent user journeys.
  • Promote best practices in UX and product design across the business.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience (at least 3+ years) in UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating practical design skills and problem-solving.
  • Strong ability to create detailed wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs using industry-standard tools.
  • Experience working on customer-focused user experience design projects, including producing deliverables such as prototypes, style guides, and interaction specifications.
  • Ability to conduct quick, effective user research and testing, and apply findings directly to design improvements.
  • Familiarity with tools and methodologies like A/B testing, user journey mapping, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
  • Knowledge of Lean UX and Design Thinking principles, applied in a practical, results-driven way.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset—you focus on delivering solutions, not just identifying issues.

What you can expect from us:

  • A collaborative, energetic and fast-paced work environment
  • Managers who are invested in your development and growth
  • Access to the best tools and resources to do your job
  • The opportunity to shape and be part of a new team building genuinely new and exciting products to help customers save money.
  • A culture of “learning by doing,” and a team that supports testing and learning as the path to successful product development.
