Quality Assurance Technical Officer | University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic quality minded individual to join our Quality Control/Quality Assurance team based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will ideally have a science degree or pharmacy background, a good eye for detail and an ability to work accurately.
Primarily you will be responsible for analysing and monitoring the environment in our licensed Radiopharmacy unit, producing environmental monitoring reports and liaising with departmental leads. In addition, you will act as pre-releaser for products manufactured under the ‘specials’ licence of our production unit and will have a key role in ensuring all units within Pharmacy Technical Services are compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Experience and knowledge of working within a quality control laboratory and/or working within a hospital pharmacy aseptic manufacturing environment would be advantageous. However, applicants who have an interest in working within a hospital pharmacy quality assurance role specifically within aseptics would be encouraged to apply.

The post holder will:- Contribute to aspects of the service of the quality control department which carries out over 50,000 environmental monitoring tests, analyses of over 200 products and raw materials along with over 2,000 operator and process validations per annum.
- Assist the Quality Control laboratory manager and departmental Quality Assurance lead in ensuring Good Manufacturing Practice is adhered to within the Pharmacy Technical Services Unit.
- Communicate effectively with individuals within Quality Control, Parenteral Services Unit (PSU), Pharmacy Production, Radiopharmacy, Southmead Regional Quality Control Laboratory, Pharmacy, ward staff and external contractors.
- Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others.
