SEMH Science Teacher – Immediate Start – Exeter
Are you an experienced Science Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Devon, starting after February half term.
The Role:
We are looking for a qualified Science Teacher who can deliver engaging and accessible lessons to students with SEMH needs. This is a full-time position, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require a supportive and tailored approach to their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Science lessons that are adapted to meet the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal development.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Work closely with other staff, support workers, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to education.
- Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support individual growth.
Requirements:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential✅ Experience teaching Science at secondary level
✅ Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or within an alternative provision setting
✅ Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
✅ A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching
