[ref. a06610324] Teacher of Art (Part-time, Sept 2025 or Jan 2026 start)
Langley Senior School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic permanent
part-time Art teacher to join our department, ideally from 1st September 2025. Applications from those available from January 2026 will also be considered.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious individual who will contribute to
development of our excellent department in delivering a stimulating and well balanced
academic and co-curricular programme for our pupils.
Our lower school curriculum is challenging, rigorous and engaging, offering pupils in
Years 6 to 8 the chance to engage in a broad range of concepts designed to develop
their knowledge and skills in all areas of Art.
During Year 8, pupils choose their ‘Year 9 Options’, and Art is an eternally popular
option for many pupils. For September 2025 we will be running two Year 9 classes of
Art, so high is the demand. Many of these pupils then choose to continue their study of
Art into GCSE during Year 10 and 11, and our results in Art reflect the excellent teaching
and facilities on offer.
Pupils go on to study A Level Art, with at least one A Level class running every year, where pupils achieve superb academic results each year. Many go on to study Art or
creative degrees when they leave Langley; for example, our Head of School recently
went on to study at University of the Arts London.
In addition, pupils at all ages are offered the opportunity to participate in numerous Art
enrichment activities, and we also offer a well-attended weekly Art Scholars club.
Langley is a truly special place to work. With dedicated colleagues, a supportive parent
body, and curious, motivated pupils, our school community is both stimulating and
welcoming. We take great pride in our sense of family and the strong sense of belonging
that unites us.
All teachers at the school are form tutors and play an important role in the pastoral life
of a thriving independent school.
