Stock Analyst
Salary - £35k per annum
Contract – 6 month FTC
Location – Northamptonshire
Working Pattern – Hybrid
Responsibilities- Prepare and post pre- and post-month-end stock journals covering areas such as stock provision, damages, shrinkage, and other relevant adjustments.
- Collaborate closely with the commercial team to calculate and accurately post inflation gains on a regular basis.
- Calculate gross margin variance (GMV) and prepare detailed reports for senior management and operational teams to inform strategic decisions.
- Undertake thorough balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement by recommending new procedures that enhance efficiency and accuracy across stock accounting functions.
- Support month-end close activities by ensuring all stock-related entries are completed accurately within set deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience working within a financial team where collaboration was key to success.
- Holding an AAT qualification or similar demonstrates your foundational knowledge; willingness to pursue further qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA is highly valued.
- Proficiency in using Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis ensures you can manage large volumes of information efficiently.
