Job Title: Setting Out Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Setting-out Engineers with experience working in RC Frame construction to join our exciting project in Oxford. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative team that values quality workmanship and a commitment to health and safety.

Rate: £28.00 per hour

Must haves:

  • Experience using Leica Total Station e.g. TS06/TS16, etc.
  • Must be able to produce as-builts on Auto Cad
  • Car is essential for getting to site
  • Must have previous experience working as a setting out engineer on RC frame project

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marking out and surveying holding down bolts
  • General RC frame works, slabs, cores, cast in elements, etc.
  • Interpret and implement drawings, specifications, and construction plans to ensure that the reinforced concrete frame structures are built within tolerance.
  • Coordinate with the project team, including project managers, design engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure effective communication and efficient project delivery.
  • Perform setting out duties, including the establishment of survey control, taking measurements, and marking out the site for construction activities.
  • Inspect and monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, design requirements, and relevant industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including site diaries, quality control documentation, and as-built drawings, to ensure a complete and up-to-date record of the project's progress.
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports and attend regular site meetings to provide updates on project status.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel, ensuring that construction activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Time served in the industry (experience)
  • Experience in RC Frame construction, preferably within the UK.
  • Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete frame design and construction methods.
  • Proficient in the use of surveying equipment (robotic and non-robotic), CAD software.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid CSCS card

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • TWS or TWC
  • Experience with temporary works design and coordination.

Additional Information:

  • Job Duration: This project is planned to run for over a year (12 months +), offering job security and the chance to develop an in-depth knowledge of the project.
  • Hours: 10 hour standard shift / 7.30am to 5.30pm / 9.5 hours paid / Monday to Friday
  • Funded upskilling opportunities to gain qualifications whilst working with Fixed Construction
