Teacher of Mathematics for September 2025, temporary appointment
We seek an enthusiastic and conscientious Mathematics Teacher to join our friendly and successful senior school department for one year to cover maternity leave. Applicants should have a good degree with mathematical content. Candidates must be able to teach KS3 and KS4 but Advanced Level and Further Mathematics teaching may be available for a suitable candidate.
We welcome applications from graduates, ECTs and experienced teachers. If a graduate or ECT were appointed to the post, a high level of structured support and guidance (meeting statutory requirements) would be provided to ensure progression towards the successful completion of their training or induction period.We pride ourselves on the level of support and care given to teachers in the early stages of their careers.

The Maths Department is expanding and currently consists of a team of 13 enthusiastic and approachable teachers who regularly share teaching ideas and resources. The department’s priorities are to help all students to achieve their full potential and to get students enthused about mathematics.We constantly review and improve our practice and strive to be excellent teachers.
At Key Stage Three, students follow a programme of study aligned to, but not dependent on, the Key Stage Three National Curriculum. We are particularly proud of the recent achievements of our students at IGCSE (all students sit IGCSE mathematics in year 11) where 67% of students achieved grade 9 or grade 8 and 100% achieved 9-5.The top set in year 11 also complete AQA IGCSE Further Maths which provides excellent preparation for A level.
A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics are popular options for sixth form students and last year 56% gained an A* grades in Mathematics at A level. 83% achieved grades A*/A. 73% of Further Maths students achieved an A* and 100% gained A*/A grades.We often support students with their preparation for Mathematical courses at university by encouraging them to read books about maths, arranging conferences and lectures and providing support for MAT, AEA and STEP.
