Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: England, Greater London, WimbledonJob Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Job Duties:
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide support to students in classroom activities and aid in their learning and development.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the needs of SEN students.
- Monitor and track the progress of SEN students, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Required Qualifications:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of SEN support strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEN policies and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting SEN students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
- Training in safeguarding and child protection.
Working Conditions:
- Regular working hours within the school term calendar.
- Potential for additional training and professional development opportunities.
- Interaction with students, teachers, and parents on a daily basis.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
