Personal Assistant
Personal Information
I am a gentleman in my Early 50’s living in the Beddau area with my wife. In order to be able to continue living an independent life I am require a Personal Assistant (PA) to support me during the week.
I am a happy go lucky person with the love of charity shops and enjoy looking around them. I have learning difficulties which does affect my speech so please be patient with me as it takes some time for me to answer when I have conversations but I can communicate.
Purpose of Job
The Personal Assistant will be required to help and support me in maintaining my independence both in the community and the home. Areas of assistance that I need help with in the home is laundry to make sure that its organised aired and clothes are put away.My home is clean and tidy and accident free hovering and general cleaning.
Also to help me carry out my weekly shop and to put it away and stored correctly.
Although my Personal Assistant will be expected to carry out many of the tasks where possible I would expect my PA to prompt me in order that I can carry out those tasks which I am able to do myself.
Place of Work:
Home and out into the community.
Hours of Work:
13 hours per week on a Tuesday 5 hours and a
Thursday 5 hours Saturday or Sunday 3 hours but this can be flexible and will be discussed in interview
Please also note that there may be occasions to support me at my caravan in Porthcawl.
Rate of Pay:
Hourly rate of pay £13.50. Mileage rate is 40p per mile for each journey we make together.
Person Required: -
Punctual and dependable, totally trustworthy and flexible.Female assistant
Car owner and a willingness to use the vehicle on our journeys out.
Non-smoker
Good sense of humour.
Caring and compassionate when times are difficult
About the Job
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly / monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
