An exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward A at Wrightington Hospital for a Band 5 Staff Nurse.
There is a post available to cover a 12 month secondment until 16/03/26, 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated staff nurse to join our team.
You will be working on our state of the art ward and will become an expert in the field of orthopaedic nursing.

The role will require you to work across all areas in the Trust which includes those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic and negative COVID wards.
Candidates are required to present original certificates for qualifications at interview stage.
Main duties of the job
The suitable post holder -- Will work on a busy ward caring for post operative patients who have had Orthopaedic surgery
- Will be required to work closely along side other members of the MDT
- Will need to be a team player with good organisational skills
- Will be required to work along side the nursing team but also be able to work independently caring for your own team of patients

On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Under supervision of the ward manager the nurse is responsible for the provision, organisation and direction of nursing care to the patients in his/her care
- To communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and high quality care is provided to all patients.
- To maintain safe administration of medicines, in line with NMC and trust policies
- To complete nursing care plans and updating patient risk assessments

Essential criteria- Able to work day/evening/night duty over a 7 day week
- Flexible and positive approach to work.
- Enthusiasm / motivation.
- Speak English to an appropriate standard relevant to their role, i.e. with confidence and accuracy, using correct sentence structures and vocabulary, and without hesitation.
- Experience of clinical supervision.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
