About Us:
Strategic Housing at Rochdale Council has been undertaking a customer-focussed transformation programme, which has included the creation of two new service areas: ‘People’ and ‘Property’. Both services work together to deliver housing solutions across the Borough, including through our new customer delivery office in Rochdale town centre.We require experienced housing professionals who are passionate about the real-life difference that quality housing makes in our community and who will want to be integral to that delivery.
About the role:
We have an exciting vacancy for a Housing Standards Officer to help contribute towards our vision for excellent strategic housing within the Borough. The Officer will work within our newly established Supported Housing Team which focusses on privately-owned supported exempt accommodation, assessing and enforcing housing and support standards.
About You:
We require an individual who is passionate about the real-life difference that quality housing makes in our community and you will want to be a pro-active part of our service achieving that aim. A key function of the role will be to engage with landlords, principally in the Supported Housing sector, tenants/licensees, service providers and other key stakeholders to monitor and promote and enforce housing standards.
A key function of the role will be to provide administrative (including financial) support to the Supported Housing Team and across the wider service as a whole.
You will be required to undertake core administrative duties, as well as supporting colleagues during an exciting period of service transformation. You will be efficient and organised, able to concentrate on key items of importance, systemic in your approach and able to use MS programmes including Excel to a moderate standard to create tables, input data and extract data in a variety of formats.Ideally you will have had experience of financial administration (including invoicing, processing, Purchase Orders etc).
You will relish the challenge of engaging with colleagues, landlords, customers and third sector partners, including welfare organisations. You will be capable of prioritising tasks, delivering on set timetables and ensuring timely completion of project commitments.You will be responsible for maintaining case files, spreadsheets and developing new systems for recording and reporting on project outcomes.
