About us:
The Electrical Engineering Officer (EEO) has an on-going responsibility to ensure our utility infrastructure works are properly monitored and assessed to deliver exceptional quality and standards of workmanship and compliance. The EEO will encourage high standards of workmanship by effective monitoring of works and activities and by excellent liaison and communication across all parties to achieve continual quality improvement.
The EEO will work wholly to represent the interests of the client and its Asset adoption clients and to protect levels of service to our customers while working in conjunction with our Service Providers and other parties to ensure delivery of excellent quality and high standards of compliance and performance.Training will be provided to audit gas infrastructure as well.
The responsibilities are:
Visits to constructions sites and officesMonitor and improve quality on live sites within the designated geographical area.
Undertake liaison duties and ensure proper co-ordination takes place between our Asset Adoption partners, Installation teams, supervisors, managers, developers, site agents and the British Gas and agency design teams so that Projects are properly completed to an excellent standard of quality, workmanship and compliance.
Undertake audits on electrical installations on building sites throughout the year on auditing system supplied.Monitor audit defects and ensure effective correction.
Deliver impartial and effective reporting of quality audits and subsequent monitoring and control of corrective actions to ensure they are properly dealt with in time.
Maintain overall defect levels below predetermined targets.
To be accountable for the day to day operational management and dispersion of your time, including effective administration of company systems, business processes, policies and procedures.
To ensure performance targets are achieved i.e. customer service, quality performance improvement, number of live audits carried out, project management activities undertaken.
To take ownership and accountability for the resolution of complex quality and corrective action issues in a timely and effective manner as well as reduce levels of avoidable defects.
To follow up instances of defective components with manufacturer and report results to BGNHC Engineering.
Carry out site surveys including pre quotation/design surveys and pre-construction surveysMonitor and report QA and compliance performance to AEM.
Liaise with DNO/IDNO when required for specific site issues.
When required represent the client at meetings with Highways Authority, DNO, IDNO, Police, Lloyds, HSE etc. Follow up actions.
Monitor NRSWA works and reinstatement defects against standards.
Taking ownership for effective and timely resolution of compliance and quality issues.
Actively work with colleagues and peers to provide support in achieving British Gas Siteworks Quality improvement and Compliance goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Must have experience of site electrical installation and multi utility installations for new housingSHEA Power safety passport (water & gas) – Multi utility preferred.
NRSWAQuality assurance and audit experience, audit qualification or training preferred.
Health and Safety awareness, relevant legislation standards and guidance.
Able to assimilate and apply technical standards procedures and quality assurance.
Appropriate Engineering qualification and training and construction experience.
