With a current turnover of £6.5 million, we have ambitious plans to expand and reach £13 million in revenue by 2027, with a focus on EBITDA growth and value creation. To support this, we are recruiting an experienced Financial Controller to drive financial strategies in line with our growth objectives.

Role Overview

As a passionate and commercially-astute Financial Controller, you will be a key member of a 4-strong Senior Leadership Team accountable to the Board of Directors for growing the business. You will be responsible for overseeing financial management at Corgin Ltd and its related group entities, Totex Ltd and Corgin Group Ltd.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy to deliver our growth plans and focus on EBITDA growth and value creation, all whilst ensuring sound fiscal management and risk mitigation. You will bring significant experience from having worked in a hire, leasing or similar high capital expenditure business.

You will manage our finance team and financial systems, produce accurate and timely financial reports, and meet our statutory reporting obligations. You will also oversee ICT and systems to support our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute financial strategies in view of achieving our revenue, EBITDA growth and value creation objectives
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the SLT and Board, providing relevant insights to support decision-making processes
  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes, and optimise visibility of financial performance
  • Assess and mitigate financial and commercial risks, and implement robust controls and procedures to safeguard company assets
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements
  • Train other team members, especially management staff, on the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and other financial reports
  • Use financial analysis to identify opportunities for business improvement and growth
  • Drive operational efficiencies and cost-effectiveness initiatives across the organisation
  • Utilise M&A experience to evaluate potential opportunities, conduct due diligence, and performance manage acquisitions or partnerships to support growth plans
  • Leverage expertise in rental/leasing to optimise financial strategies specific to our industry
  • Provide leadership, support and motivation to the finance team to ensure efficient, accurate, timely and compliant financial operation
  • Manage and implement improvements to financial systems, software, processes, procedures and reporting to support the above
  • Oversee ICT and systems, ensuring they facilitate our growth objectives by removing constraints, driving efficiency and simplifying processes
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role in B2B hire or leasing, preferably equipment hire
  • Strong track record of driving EBITDA growth and value creation
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to inspire the confidence of management and colleagues
  • Clear strategic thinking with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is required
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) is preferred
