Job overview

An exciting 0.6WTE opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Specialist Physiotherapist in our Haemophilia Service. We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated physiotherapist to join and lead our Haemaphilia Physiotherapy team.

Main duties of the job

This exciting role offers you the opportunity to develop and lead the Physiotherapy Haemaphilia Service whilst collaborating and linking with the large, diverse and well-established MSK Physiotherapy Team and Haemophilia Service.

This post will give you the opportunity to provide outstanding clinical and managerial leadership. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality specialist physiotherapy to enable comprehensive and holistic assessment/treatment of MSK issues with patients with blood clotting disorders.

This role is a valued and core component of the multidisciplinary team that is essential in providing a high-quality model of care for persons with bleeding disorders.

You will be responsible for the day to day operational planning and delivery of the Haemophilila Physiotherapy service and supporting staff development within MSK and the wider MDT. You will also be supported to deliver innovative service improvement projects and strategic developments.

Being flexible and innovative in your ways of working will be fundamental to your role and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. You will be passionate about delivering high quality, evidenced based care and be someone who follows their initiative and is able to use novel and innovative approaches to complex patient management and service delivery.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • HPC registered Physiotherapist.
Desirable criteria
  • MSc or equivalent post graduate experience
  • Advanced communication skills training.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven post graduate experience in oncology/haematology and palliative acre.
  • Experience in end of life care planning.
  • Supervision of junior staff.
  • Clinical education of students.
  • Post graduate experience of working in an acute setting.
  • Clinical supervision of a broad range of staff of differing bands/disciplines
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including effective cross-Therapies working.
  • Experience of using clinical governance framework to monitor and improve quality of patient care.
