About the Role
ℹ️ As the CRM & Lifecycle Marketing Lead at Stakemate, you’ll report directly to the Head of Growth and take full ownership of user retention strategy and execution.
Your mission: increase the number of players who stick around, come back, and stay engaged – turning first-time bettors into long-term loyal fans.
You’ll have a strong understanding of full-funnel marketing and growth marketing principles, and will take over day-to-day operations of our CRM (Braze) to build lifecycle journeys, reengagement, win-back and reactivation flows in addition to leading on retention strategy and working cross-functionally with product and operations teams.
🌱 This role requires equal parts strategy, execution and experimentation – the ideal candidate is someone who wants to blend deep CRM and Growth expertise with a wide understanding of marketing, product and strategy.
⚠️ Our marketing team is very small and we have no strategy-only roles. On any given day, you will be writing copy, working with the product team and taking team-wide meetings with the operations teams.
What you’ll do- Drive our retention and lifecycle marketing vision: You’ll be directly responsible for the retention and reengagement of users, aligning growth, product and operations teams to ensure we are optimising for user retention and CLTV.
- Lead CRM campaign creation, execution and optimisation: You’ll work with the head of growth to define the overarching lifecycle marketing strategy, then gradually take over day-to-day execution and operation; defining segments, designing A/B tests, monitoring and reporting on results and continuously optimising things like open rates and conversion rates.
- Obsession with retention and thought leadership: You’ll be expected to approach our user retention with some level of healthy obsession, bringing best practices and industry standards to everything we do. This role is not CRM-only, and a strong focus on product testing and full-funnel thinking is emphasised.
- Own ongoing campaigns calendar: You’ll be making sure we have the sports content that users want, and that we’re marketing it to them at the right time across the right channels.
- Build a strong operational rhythm for retention: Own the briefing process, work directly with our designer where necessary, collaborate with QA and product teams to ensure you’re maximising the impact of campaigns.
Requirements
🔎 What We Are Looking For- 3-5 years of experience in CRM, Growth Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing or Product Marketing within Consumer tech businesses or iGaming (for candidates with no iGaming experience, some interest in sports and/or betting is expected).
- Hands-on expertise with Braze, Optimove or similar including liquid personalisation, user canvas and journeys, segmentation and reporting tools.
- Strategic full-funnel marketing mindset with the ability to zoom in on tactical execution and zoom out on overall lifecycle performance and vision.
- Good understanding of key retention and engagement metrics, data analytics and experience optimising for retention, reactivation and churn prevention across CRM and product. Some understanding of Conversion Rate Optimisation tactics is ideal.
- Extreme ownership – there is no micromanaging at Stakemate, and the ideal hire will be able to take over retention in stride.
- Strong instincts for messaging, user psychology, and behavioural marketing — you know how to speak to the right user at the right time.
- A collaborative communicator who thrives inside a small, focused, fast-paced marketing team.
- Experience working with Mixpanel, Segment, Looker, PowerBI or similar for analytics.
- Exposure to referral, loyalty, and bonus program design is a bonus.

💻 Work Arrangements
At Stakemate, we believe that building a strong team culture is as crucial as innovating in the sports betting market. You will be a part of our London team and expected to come into the Borough Road office 3 days a week.

- Task Review – 1hr call with Head of Growth and CEO to present your take-home task.
- Final Call - 1hr final round to meet the London based team.
