We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join the theatre team as Trauma, Orthopaedic and Podiatry Band 7 Team Leader.
The successful candidate should have T&O scrub experience and knowledge.
The candidate should be motivated and a team player who is dedicated to the provision of high standards of care, safety and practice within the peri-operative environment.
The successful candidate will be accountable to the Matron and will be leading the Trauma, Orthopaedic and Podiatry team within theatres at Homerton Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Overall manage of the Trauma, Orthopaedic and Podiatry team, managing sickness, performance etc.
Ensure the smooth, effective running of theatre lists and the department as a whole.
Coordinating the theatre departments, working with fellow Band 7 team leaders.
Stock control in relation to the budget and spend.
Working with the Multidisciplinary Team to ensure high standards of patient care.

Education, Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria- NMC Registered Nurse level 1 or ODP HCPC registered
- Teaching / Assessing / Mentoring Qualification
- Evidence of on-going dynamic continuing professional development within the speciality linked to demonstrable clinical competencies and academic study
- Adult Intermediate life support training
- Evidence of fulfilling PREP.
- Leadership or management qualification or training
- Possession of an operative department qualification or relevant degree or in the process of obtaining
- Experience of working with an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive post registration experience with substantial experience as a senior staff nurse/ODP (band 6 or equivalent) in scrub
- Proven management and leadership experience
- Thorough specialty knowledge relevant to the specialty and department
- Proven teaching and development of staff
- Ability to manage workforce processes and issues that may arise
- Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk, and quality issues
- Handling safeguarding issues according to Trust policies and procedures
