About the role

As a Junior Designer, you will play an important role in supporting Imagine’s design team. Working with talented designers, you will have your own dedicated mentor, who will help you grow and develop into the best designer you can be, with an ethos of always pushing creative boundaries.

Working under the Senior Art Director, you will design exciting commercial projects and marketing assets that will feature online and in print across Immediate’s portfolio of brands.

You will be a hands-on Junior Designer, working on campaigns alongside your fellow designers, and collaborating with sales, editorial and our internal and external clients. As well as live campaigns, you’ll work on responses to client briefs, ensuring that all work delivered is to the highest standard.
You’ll work within a design team that will push and develop your skills, whilst teaching you how to succeed in commercial advertising and marketing design. You will be involved in all areas of the creative process, from originating and developing commercial ideas at pitch level through to booked work.

You will develop your own creative flair and understanding of our brands’ house style across all design output.

The Junior Designer is expected to play an active role in brainstorms and ideation, both in response to client briefs and proactive pitch work. You will dream up brilliant new ideas, and live the ethos that creativity has no limits.

As a Junior Designer, you will;
  • Attend relevant internal meetings with various teams including sales, editorial, publishing, marketing, comms, events.
  • Represent Imagine at meetings, events and within key projects, internally.
Design & Brand Knowledge
  • Ensure your work is of the highest standard, is as creative as possible and adheres to our brands’ guidelines across all platforms.
  • Interpret and respond to a brief in your design work.
  • Switch seamlessly between brand styles while managing multiple projects.
  • Work closely with your fellow designers to develop and push your skills.
  • Be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrate an ability to take creative criticism from your peers, editorial and clients, and apply this to your designs.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the content on Immediate brands’ digital, print, audio and experiential touchpoints to ensure your ideas and designs are relevant to our titles and audiences.
  • Show a passion for and knowledge of the content marketplace beyond Immediate’s portfolio.
Ideation & Pitching
  • Attend brainstorms and make a regular contribution to these sessions.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of Immediate's content and style when considering a client's brief/objectives.
  • Seek out and dream up new, exciting ideas that contribute to winning pitches.
  • Work on pitch proposals with all the sales teams, both reactive and pro-active.
Requirements
  • A grounding in digital media design.
  • A passion for editorial brands and their many forms.
  • An appetite to learn and develop within the role.
  • Knowledge of Figma, Photoshop and InDesign an advantage.
