Reporting into the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will join a talented team of Traffic Signals specialists in the Oxfordshire region. Due to growth and demand from our customer(s), we in a position to grow our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

As a Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with one of our experienced Traffic Engineers to troubleshoot, fix, maintain, and test a range of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights and electrical equipment that is associated with this, in and around the Oxfordshire region.

Training isn’t in a classroom, it is a healthy mix of ‘on the job’ learning, providing you with an opportunity to work towards an NVQ in Electrical Installations and Sector based certifications such as ECS and the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) Chapter 8.

Who you are:

You will naturally have an interest in troubleshooting, fixing, testing and maintaining Electrical equipment, and already have some exposure to anything electrical – whether that’s working with outdoor lighting, CCTV’s, controllers, detection boxes, telecommunications / radio equipment etc, or you’ve had some experience via a College related course / Diploma.

Key Requirements:

  • Motivation and willingness to learn on the job and via online learning
  • Previous experience of Electrical testing, maintenance, fixing or installing, or a holder of an Electrical course / diploma or similar
  • Ability to problem solve and providing ideas – ultimately the job requires you to think outside the box, and working through “fault finding instructions”
  • Full UK Driving Licence holder and live in the Oxfordshire region
  • Able to and willing to undertake a Drugs & Alcohol test to ensure compliancy
