IT Project Manager Caledonian Sleeper Limited, GlasgowFixed Term Contract 6 months

  • Hybrid based 2-3 days in office. Circa £50,000 per annum plus benefits We are recruiting for an IT Project Manager to join our team based in Glasgow on 6-month fixed term basis. Now is an exciting time to join us to support a programme of work to transition all infrastructure, systems, and business applications. In June 2023 Scottish Ministers took the decision to cease the franchise agreement with Serco and bring the Caledonian Sleeper service under the management of Scottish Rail Holdings. This role will support with the transition process to coordinate multiple software development projects alongside our delivery partners and business stakeholders. Main Accountabilities:

  • Manage IT Projects through complete life cycle, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Work with solution architects, development partners and business analysts to shape requirements, delivery roadmap and plan milestones.
  • Lead completion of infrastructure and data related tasks via suppliers/development partners.
  • Coordination of cutover activity from old to new systems
  • Creation and management of all project documentation, including PIDs, plans, stakeholder updates and RAID logs.
  • Ensure projects are kept on track (time/cost/quality), identifying any risks or issues and escalating for resolution when necessary.
  • Chair and manage internal and external meetings related to projects.
What you’ll need to do the role:

Qualifications:

  • Professional Project Management Qualification.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Practicing Project Manager with 3-5 years of experience delivering IT/Digital Projects.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft applications and specific experience of delivering HR and payroll solutions, managing complex migration activity
  • desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of project life-cycle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Self-starter, able to demonstrate initiative and ability to adapt to changing direction or priorities where needed.
  • Strong supplier management and ability to positively influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication with ability to present complex, technical information in a manner that is easy to understand.
  • Proficient in using computer applications.
  • Knowledge of implementation planning, including change management.
  • Experience working in a large transformation programme, including people and process change in complex and demanding environments.
