About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning and emotional needs. You will work alongside a supportive team of teachers and staff to create a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages every child to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with SEN, both in and outside the classroom.
  • Help implement individualized learning plans (IEPs) and support the delivery of SEN interventions.
  • Assist in developing and adapting resources to meet the needs of the children.
  • Support children with a range of learning, behavioral, and physical needs, ensuring their inclusion and participation in all activities.
  • Encourage positive behavior and help create a supportive and safe environment for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding the progress and well-being of students.

About You:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a classroom or other educational settings, is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their best and overcome challenges.
  • A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the school community.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are beneficial but not essential.
