We are looking to recruit: -

1 Clerical Assistant @ 18.5 hours per week.

Experience is welcome but it is not required as full induction will be given along with all necessary training and support.

Care4CE, who are the provider services for Cheshire East Council, offer services to adults with eligible needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, autism, and dementia.

The Shared Lives Service provides support for adults from across the Cheshire East borough.

The role of the Clerical Assistant will include:

Supporting the team manager in the provision of clerical and administrative duties in order to facilitate the efficient organisation of the provider services unit and to work within agreed timescales according to defined procedures.
To design, develop, monitor and maintain schedule, records and systems for work in the unit to ensure an effective and efficient service.

To prepare statistical and financial information from systems in agreed formats, monitor trends, collate and present for use by senior staff in budget maintenance and policy development and to ensure that client information is readily available and accessible.

To respond to routine and more complex enquiries, both verbal and/or in writing, from a wide range of contacts using discretion in forming responses so that advice on the area of work dealt with by the unit is consistently given in accordance with agreed policies and within defined procedures.

To supervise and train lower graded staff, on a daily and/or pre-planned basis, to ensure that the day-to-day work of the unit is progressed within defined procedures.
To identify problems by continuous review and make recommendations for improvement in the jobholder’s specified work area, so as to contribute to the achievement of the unit's overall service objectives.

To advise managers and group leaders on the application of operation procedures to ensure they are consistently and effectively applied. To provide general clerical support to senior staff to facilitate the efficient administration of the service unit.

To check and process information for the payment of invoices, expenses, salaries and wages, to code expenditure to appropriate budgets in order to ensure accurate payments. To administer staffing and payroll documents, for example, reference requests and time sheets, and to deal with queries as appropriate.

To maintain client record files and other files in order to ensure that records are kept up-to-date and readily available to professional staff for decision-making purposes. To check supplies and order stock as required. To make arrangements, within agreed parameters for the transport of clients, liaising as appropriate, to ensure that clients are collected and arrive on time.

The Shared Lives Scheme is available to any vulnerable adult over 18 years old who meets Cheshire East Council’s eligibility criteria.

Shared Lives provide;
Intermediate support - where you live with the Shared Lives carer as a member of their family.
Respite support - short breaks for you and respite for the family carer
Sessional support - support in the Shared Lives Carer's home or in the community
You will receive;

33 days leave entitlement from day one, rising to 38 days
after 5 years’ service.

This includes working between the hours of: -

Wednesday 1-5pm

Thursday 9 – 5pm

Friday 9 – 4:30pm

No work on weekends and bank holidays

Day of work may need to be negotiated on an ongoing basis dependant on needs of service but will always be between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.
