We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Paediatric Nurse to join our supportive and forward-thinking team, delivering high-quality, child-centred care in our Paediatric Emergency Department at Frimley Park Hospital.
About the Role:
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing care to children aged 0-17 years with a wide range of needs, from minor injuries to trauma and resuscitation.
Be part of a highly regarded department known for its excellence in clinical care and strong training and development focus.
Receive dedicated support from a Practice Development Lead and structured staff nurse development programme covering: Emergency nursing skills
Plastering and minor injury assessmentPaediatric life support
Leadership development opportunities (internal & external courses)
ED specialist training & departmental simulation (SIM) sessions
What We’re Looking For:
Motivated and flexible nurses who can adapt to the rapidly changing demands of an Emergency Department.Strong commitment to patient safety and compassionate care.
Current or pending UK NMC registration is essential.

Main duties of the job- To assist members of the multi-disciplinary team to maintain children’s and families’ fundamental needs and ensure patient safety.
- To carry out duties in support of the nursing and clinical team.
- To assist with a range of non-clinical duties.
- To support the nurse in charge in assessing children and young people once deemed competent and ESI training completed.
- To be competent within their scope of practice and continue to develop through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competencies determined by the individual clinical area.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered Nurse (RNC)
- Current (or pending) NMC registration
- APLS or equivalent
- Module in emergency care
Experience
Essential criteria- Ideally some post registration nursing experience. Would consider newly qualified based on experience/interview.
- Emergency Department and/or acute care experience
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- IT literate
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritise and time manage
- Knowledge of EPR systems
- SLIP or equivalent mentorship course
Special Requirements
Essential criteria- Flexible approach to working including working unsociable hours reflective to departmental requirements
