Job overview

New Forrest Ward requires an enthusiastic ward housekeeper to join the team. You will need to be flexible with working patterns, be organised and able to work in a busy fast paced environment.

The role includes ensuring the overall tidiness of the ward, ordering of stock and reporting of faulty equipment. You will also be required to liaise closely with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team.

New Forrest Ward is one of the youngest wards in the trust, where we have now been a growing team for just over two years. We specialise in Diabetes and Endocrinology with a mixture of general medicine, where we have 29 beds in total.

Main duties of the job
  • To monitor the environment to ensure all areas are clean and tidy. Remove clutter, tidy notice boards. Participate in ward/unit environmental audits.
  • To collect and deliver equipment and other items from and to other areas of the hospital as required.
  • To maintain stock levels in all clinical areas, liaising with material management staff to rectify any problems or shortfalls.
  • To have good interpersonal skills. Demonstrate a caring, compassionate and friendly attitude. Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy and be approachable.
