The role
To provide an efficient and safe operation of processing equipment, whilst checking quality attribute and specification along with complying with Company Food Safety, Health & Safety, Quality and Hygiene requirements i.e., factory dress code and hand washing procedure.
Key accountabilities- Complete prestart checks. (H&S/FS/QA)
- Ensure there is regular communication with the Line/Process Leader and other team members
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the department’s kit/equipment
- Complete specification and quality checks as and when required
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all technical and food safety policies and procedures
- Fault diagnosis and problem solving
- Liaise with the engineering team when required
- Carry out machine changeovers when required
- Conduct line cleaning to required specifications
- Conduct a thorough handover and takeover during each shift
- Start-up & shut down the line in accordance with procedures
- Train other/new team members when required, (upon achieving the relevant competency)
- Learn other plant and equipment when requested
- Good understanding of written & spoken English plus numeracy skills
- Work as part of a team - to join in and help those around you.
- Good planning and organising skills.
- Must be able to drive line efficiencies and control waste.
- Fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a team and help others.
- Ability to follow instructions from Line/Process Leader and Section Managers.
- Willingness to learn and be flexible in a variety of tasks, displays a positive attitude.
