Your new role:
Southend-on-Sea City Council are delighted to be recruiting for a Data Analyst to join their Data and Intelligence on a full time and fixed term basis for 36 months.
In this role, you will be working in a friendly and innovative team, the role offers hybrid and flexible work patterns and fantastic training opportunities in other programming tools.
In this role, you will be completing a L7 Public Health Intelligence Apprenticeship.
As a Data Analyst, you will have an impact at both strategic and operational levels by building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. You will be expected to interact with their team, organisational managers, stakeholders, decision makers, government boards and elected officials.There will be responsibility for leading the production of high-quality information and interpretation through tasks including defining information requirements and advising colleagues on appropriate data sources and analytical approaches.
As well as being responsible for interpreting research findings and including them along with their analyses in their advice and outputs to inform the implementation of evidence-based interventions. There will also be an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the region, and will be expected to complete region wide analytics, either in a do-once for all approach, or in a reproducible format.
What you'll need to succeed:
This role is a L7 Public Health Intelligence Apprenticeship scheme Mathematics Qualifications & Experience:
- Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate degree; or
- Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology, Geography, Economics, Accounting) undergraduate degree with Research Methods and/or Statistics modules and an undergraduate dissertation that included a research or data analysis component; or
- Level 4 or higher qualification in STEM or a related field that includes substantial mathematical content (e.g., Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Computing, Engineering, or Science); or
- Professional registration with FEDIP through the Association of Healthcare Analysts (AphA) at Practitioner or Senior Practitioner level; or
- Equivalent analytical work experience (e.g. NHS experienced Band 6 or Band 7 data analyst or similar role)
Candidates are expected to be able to meet the Level 2 standards of the National Competency Framework for Data Professions for Data Analysts
