We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical support worker vacancy on Ward 17 which is a respiratory ward. We have a 24 bedded unit, which provides care for patients with chronic respiratory conditions, which also include tracheostomy patients, None invasive ventilation and patients with lung cancer.

We are currently looking for a permanent Clinical Support Worker who is enthusiastic and motivated to join our team

A flexible approach to the hours of work is required; this includes long days (07:00-19:30) and night shifts (19:00-07:30) includes weekends and bank holidays.

Clinical Support Worker

Assisting patients with activities of daily living, in accordance with the care plan. These duties will include the delivery of hygiene care, nutrition and hydration, continence care, pressure area care, mobility and rehabilitation.

Therapeutically engaging with patients and their families, some of which will have dementia. The ward welcomes anyone with a interest in activity and entertainment that patients and staff will enjoy.

Being part of the wider MDT and making a daily contribution to the care patients receive.

Assist in taking and recording patient's observations and report changes to patient's health status to train nurse for action.

Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading.

Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in2018,extension of a Neonatal Unit and brand new, state of the art Emergency Department is in the process of being completed.
