The Faculty of Social Sciences, Criminology, Film & Media is looking to appoint to the following position:

  • Teacher of Criminology (with an ability to offer a second subject) - 1 FTE

This is an exciting time to join an Ofsted Outstanding Sixth Form College and we welcome applications from suitably qualified teachers

Generic Key Responsibilities (for all Sefton Sixth Form Teaching Roles)
  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching that supports excellent learner progress.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that follow College curriculum standards and TLA principles.
  • Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Create effective learning resources and use technology to enhance teaching.
  • Support students’ wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and personal development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Take part in College events such as open evenings, enrolment and parent meetings.
  • Maintain high professional standards, including safeguarding and equality duties.
Criteria
  • Degree in the relevant subject (or a closely related discipline).
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current course requirements.
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching that supports excellent learner progress.
  • Ability to assess learners effectively and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Confident in using digital tools and platforms to support teaching and learning.
  • Ability to maintain high expectations, promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and promoting the welfare of young people.
