We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Head of Geography to begin in September 2025.
The successful applicant will have a passion for academic excellence and a commitment to teaching and learning. The role will focus on maintaining and improving the success of the department, managing a significant number of staff. They should be able to manage pedagogical development, enhancing curriculum provision and instilling high academic expectations.Christ’s Hospital offers its staff an extraordinary chance to be part of an educational establishment that is grounded in tradition and transformative in culture, for staff and students.
The successful candidate must be able to lead a strong academic team and would ideally have had experience of managing or leading others. They will be required to teach Geography up to A level and should be able to stretch our talented students beyond this standard.
Applicants should evidence in the personal statement how they meet the requirements of the role and person specification. Salary is commensurate with experience and paid in accordance with the Christs’ Hospital Teachers’ Salary scale up to £48,177 per annum supplemented by an allowance starting at £12,241 as a head of department.Full participation in the broader life of this busy boarding community is essential and accommodation on-site may be available.
