Job overview
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Catering Team at Blossomwood Hospital who will be responsible for catering for all our patient and visitors.
Previous experience of working within a catering environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
We have in-house training to help your personal development plans and will support you with all of your training needs.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Main duties of the job
Facilities Assistant - Catering should have the ability to work effectively and flexibly, both alone and as part of a team, maintaining a high standard of work will be essential.
Part time - 12.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 15:30 to 18:00pm working bank holidays but no weekends).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To support the Catering Department which provides high quality, safe and nutritious food for patients, staff and visitors. Specifically undertaking catering responsibilities as detailed in the Job Description following task schedules, method statements and procedures.
The successful applicant will be required to cover other areas when needed. The ability to work effectively and flexibly, both alone and as part of a team, maintaining a high standard of work will be essential.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- An understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
- Recognised, support services qualification
Training
Essential criteria- Ability to undertake all mandatory training as required by the individual site
- Ability to undertake any necessary skills and competency training required by the post
Experience
Essential criteria- Able to carry out instructions as detailed in the job description
- Experience or working within a catering, portering or cleaning environment
- Experience of working within healthcare environment
- Experience of working within a food safety management system

Essential criteria- Shift flexibility may be required from time to time, including weekend and Bank Holidays Requirement to attend mandatory and job specific training
