Financial Analyst
As a Finance Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting financial governance across a major infrastructure programme, contributing to financial planning, performance reporting, and strategic analysis.
In this position, you'll work with senior analysts and finance managers to deliver high-quality financial insights that support investment decisions and drive accountability. The Finance Analyst will collaborate across planning, commercial, and project teams to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in financial reporting and performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to support decision-making across a large-scale programme.
- Deliver detailed cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and funding request support.
- Provide insightful commentary and challenge financial assumptions where needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial messaging and ensure consistency.
- Coach and support internal teams in understanding and applying financial processes.
- Assist with financial governance tasks including audits, journal entries, and budget amendments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within financial processes and systems.
About You:
- Previous experience in a finance analyst or similar business partnering role within a commercial or project environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present complex financial data clearly.
- Commercially aware, detail-focused, and confident working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified with a recognised UK accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS).
- Experience with tools such as SAP, PowerBI, Anaplan, or similar financial systems is desirable.
- A problem-solver with sound judgement, combining data-driven thinking with business insight.
