Nigel Wright are currently working with a well known food manufacturing business who are based in the North East who are looking to recruit a Health & safety Manager.
The Role
Working in a busy,fast paced manufacturing environment, this role will certainly offer plenty of challenge. It would suit an individual who enjoys being on the factory floor, engaging with the workforce. Working with the Site GM, the Health and Safety Manager will set the agenda and be responsible for ensuring the delivery and audit of HSE activities, ensuring they meet the legal requirements.
Key responsibilities include- Ensuring all health, safety and environmental policies and standards are maintained across the site, driving compliance, and promoting a ‘safety first’ culture.
- Developing strong working relationships with other managers, proactively supporting them to ensure they and their teams follow best practice and minimise risks.
- Reviewing, auditing, and assessing HSE activities to ensure legal compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Working with the HR Manager to identify and deliver HSE related training requirements.
- Keeping up to date with all relevant legislation and ensuring this is communicated to the business.
The candidate
In order to be considered for this role, we are ideally seeking the following experience:
- Prior experience in a HSE Manager position, ideally in food production or a high volume/FMCG manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH qualified.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering HSE improvements and working collaboratively with other managers and stakeholders to raise standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with and influence and challenge colleagues at all levels.
- Experience of Environmental related issues and legislation.
