Field Service Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our client’s team. This role involves servicing, commissioning, and repairing gas detection and monitoring equipment, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered to customers across Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain gas detection and monitoring equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on detection equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Respond to customer call-outs promptly.
- Work independently or collaboratively to complete projects.
- Follow safety procedures and adhere to electrical codes.
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Keep the General Manager informed of job progress and any potential issues.
- Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain the condition and organisation of the service van.
- Adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the work environment.
Skills & Requirements:
- Qualifications: Minimum of 18th Edition qualification.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and electrical regulations.
- Experience: Previous experience in a field service role, particularly in servicing, commissioning, and repairing electrical equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reading Schematics: Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Physical Requirements: Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Driving Licence: A full, valid driving licence is required.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to varying working hours when required.
