We are looking to employ a Clinical Practice Educator for Speech and Language Therapy. The successful candidate will work with students, apprentices, newly graduated and existing Speech and Language Therapists across all of our Trust sites to support their clinical development.
This post requires expert clinical knowledge and experience within Speech and Language Therapy, including skills and knowledge of instrumentals i.e FEES & VF, to deliver high quality training, education and clinical support.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for supporting the clinical development of Speech and Language Therapists, preceptees, apprentices and students in practice, in partnership with their supervisors. Functioning as a practicing professional working directly alongside the Speech and Language Therapists in clinical practice is part of this role.
You will lead on design and delivery of the induction of Speech and Language Therapists and co-ordinate Speech and Language Therapy student and apprenticeship placements. You will help to deliver our new AHP Preceptorship programme.
Alongside the AHP workforce lead and other members of the development team, you will ensure a quality environment for learning and practicing is provided for Speech and Language Therapists , preceptees, apprentices and students.
You will work with the AHP Workforce lead and HR to plan future roles for graduating Speech and Language Therapists in order to retain them in the Trust or wider health system. Participating in the future planning and recruiting of cohorts onto the Speech and Language Therapy Apprenticeship programmes is also part of this role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Candidates will need to hold a Speech and Language Therapy BSc (Hons)Degree or equivalent with significant experience at NHS band 6 level or equivalent experience. Candidates will need to demonstrate recent experience in an acute hospital setting in the UK and able to evidence experience of teaching/facilitating group and individual learning.Further evidence in developing Speech and Language Therapy practice within the clinical setting is required. The successful candidate would need to be able to work independently and manage own caseload as well as have the ability to work effectively within a team.
There is currently a 0.6 B7 Speech and Language Therapist advert for the same maternity leave cover.
The post is part time (15hrs/week).
