Join a group of businesses based near Bangor, County Down. This organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to help improve and develop the processes and procedures in the accounting department.

Your new role

As the Group Financial Controller, you will lead and develop the Finance Department, modernising the accounting processes and systems. You will contribute to the company's future direction and growth in profitability, providing financial business partnering to the Senior Management team across various businesses.

  • Managing, developing and training a small team of accounts professionals
  • Ensure that all month-end and year-end duties are carried out accurately and on time, including the preparation of management and financial accounts.
  • Develop and implement improved systems, controls and procedures across the department.
  • Provide commercial support to the Senior Leadership Team to support the ambitious growth plans
  • Developing budget and forecasting processes
  • Analyse and comment on KPI’s and any significant changes compared to previous year, budget, and target values.
  • Preparation and submission of all tax requirements including PAYE, CIS, VAT and Corporation Tax
  • Take full control of the delivery of the accounts end to end
What you'll need to succeed
  • Recognised accounting qualification ACA / CIMA / ACCA.
  • Commercial astuteness, articulate, technically strong, and insightful.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experienced at developing and improving systems and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, organisational skills, and knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.
  • The ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
What you'll get in return

A salary ranging from £65,000 to £75,000 per annum and an opportunity to be part of the Senior Management team, driving the company's future direction and profitability.
