GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a reputable and successful Chartered Accountancy firm in Gloucester. We are recruiting for a dedicated and driven Payroll Administrator to join their dynamic team. This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday 08:30am – 17:00pm offering a salary up to £35K which is pending relevant experience.

At the heart of this Payroll Assistant role is the management and execution of payroll duties, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently for the firm's diverse and eclectic clientele. From managing payments to keeping up with the latest tax and legal changes, the Payroll Administrator will play a crucial part in upholding the firm's reputation for excellence.

Ideally you will demonstrate previous experience in a practice environment but, this is not essential.

Payroll Assistant main duties:

  • Managing end-to-end payroll for the firm's clients.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely submission of payroll information.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest tax and payroll legislation changes.
  • Addressing and resolving client payroll queries in a professional manner.
  • Liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies.
  • Assisting with year-end processes including P60s.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure cohesive service delivery.

Payroll Assistant required skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment desirable
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
  • SAGE experience beneficial
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
