Job Description:
We are currently looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the properties and grounds of Gretna Green Ltd to a high standard in a prompt and timely manner.
Main Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Maintenance Manager to plan and undertake required maintenance and improvement works on all property both internally and externally
- Carrying out the agreed planned preventative maintenance schedule on all plant and equipment ensuring they are kept in good working order
- Liaising closely with external contractors
- Plan and order materials from suppliers as required under strict financial planning and control methods
- Undertake specific trade skill of carpentry and joinery, including additional skills in electrical and plumbing.
- Ensuring the safe and appropriate use of any chemicals in accordance with regulations such as COSHH and maintaining up to date records as required
- Carry out mandatory compliance inspections of property, equipment and tools
- Maintaining and improving the function and aesthetics of an internationally significant tourist destination.
Required Skills include:
- Background and/ or qualifications in carpentry and joinery
- Experience in fixing a range of maintenance and building fabric issues
- Maintenance experience in a customer service orientated commercial property like retail, hotels or hospitality
- Experience in plumbing and electrical would be advantageous
- A sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including manual handling, working at heights and adopting safe working practices to protect yourself, colleagues and customers
- An understanding of planned preventative maintenance
- Hands-on, can-do attitude
- Drivers licence essential
Rate of pay: Competitive
Hours: 40 hours per week including one weekend out of four on a rota basis
