Ofsted Report October 2023: “Because teachers really care about us, we really care about them,” What our students said about us.

Do you want to work in a vibrant, rural 11-18 school, which is in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, on the edge of the thriving market town of Banbury? The Warriner School has an excellent academic reputation, both locally and more widely, and we are very proud to be an integral part of the community that we serve.

Staff have high expectations for all students and work enthusiastically to continue raising attainment and achievement.

We are excited to announce an opportunity to lead the Mathematics Department at The Warriner School. We are a large, vibrant secondary school situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, offering a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment for both students and staff.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality education, where excellence in teaching and learning is at the core of everything we do. We have a focus on personal development and academic success, and we are committed to ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and inspirational Subject Lead of Mathematics to lead and develop our Mathematics department. The department sits within the Earth and Mathematical Sciences faculty and is supported by three experienced TLR holders.
Recent changes to the curriculum and assessment model have led to significant improvement in student outcomes. As Subject Lead of Mathematics, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of the department, leading a team of dedicated subject specialists, and contributing to the wider vision and strategic goals of the school.

The ability to teach Further Maths at KS5 would be desirable.

  • A confident team player who understands the importance of relationships
  • A selfless individual, putting the needs of students above all else
  • A proactive and hardworking teacher
  • An outstanding communicator with all stakeholders
  • A determined and patient colleague, with the willpower to see things through
  • An outstanding practitioner who leads by example, with the ability to listen and self-reflect
  • A highly organised teacher, with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • An inspirational, creative, and innovative teacher

What we offer:

  • MPS/UPS Plus TLR
  • Own office within the department
  • A school with a clear moral purpose and drive for ‘excellence for all our students’
  • Leadership development and early promotion opportunities for the right candidates
  • A dedicated and friendly team of professionals who are keen to develop and learn
  • Excellent CPD opportunities to grow and develop
  • A clear staff well-being strategy package that includes our confidential Employee Assistance Programme with access for all staff to Face to Face Counselling, Stress Management, 24/7 GP access, Physiotherapy, Menopause Counselling and Support, Men’s Mental Health Wellness, Bereavement Support, Nurse Support Service, Maternity & Paternity Support and Financial Wellbeing Support
