Job overview

This is an exciting and new opportunity for a Support Time and Recovery Worker to join the Central Home Based Treatment Team.

The Central Home Based Treatment Team offer 24 hour support to service users, and their families/carers, who are suffering from mental health concerns that would otherwise require admission to an acute in patient environment. There is a strong focus on a recovery model and effective risk management to provide quality care in a community setting.

The Central Home Based Treatment Team are always striving towards excellence in service delivery and ensuring that the Trust values are achieved. The successful applicant will be dynamic and forward thinking with the ability to work as part of a Team and in partnership with local services.

Main duties of the job

There will be an expectation that the successful applicant will undertake night duty and shift work as part of their role.

The Central Home Treatment also support the Mental Health Liaison Team at times supporting service users within the A and E department awaiting assessment and admission to inpatient unit.

Successful applicants will be provided with a full induction and appraisal to formulate a Personal Development Plan and to identify training and development needs.

Person specification

Qualifications

• Higher education studies certificate
• NVQ 3 or equivalent experience
• Certificate in Mental Health
• ECDL or equivalent

Knowledge

• Knowledge on mental health issues and how these impact on the individual, carer’s and the wider community
• Awareness of evidence based practice
• Ability to organise/co-ordinate and respond efficiently to complex information

Experience

• Experiences including individual and group work in mental health specialities
• Support service users’ own decision-making that builds on their strengths
• The ability and skill to form positive therapeutic relationships, whilst maintaining professional boundaries

Skills

• Commitment to client-centred, non-discriminatory practice
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays to meet the needs of the service
• Commitment to lifelong learning
