Staff Nurse- Coronary Care Unit
Job overview
You will be ready to meet the challenges of our busy eight bedded Coronary Care Unit, caring for patients with a variety of acute cardiac conditions.
You will possess excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills. You will be committed to high standards of care and have the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as being part of a team. Main duties of the job
To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:
- The assessment of care and health education needs;
- The development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient
To gain experience and skills in:
- Clinical practice
- Facilitation and teaching
- Management (as appropriate
To work in accordance with the RUH Nursing Strategy and contribute towards achieving its objectives and maintain effective communication.
To participate in clinical supervision as appropriate and to teach and act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor/role model to less experienced staff.

Essential criteria- Adult Registered Nurse
- Six months post qualification
- Mentorship Qualification
- Experience of working in a Cardiology setting
- Evidence of training in additional skills e.g. cannulation/ venepuncture, male catheterisation etc.
- Relevant post registration course e.g. cardiac care course.
